Manual Handling Training

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations apply to a wide range of manual handling activities, including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying.  Manual handling is a task every one of us faces everyday whether working in an office, factory, warehouse etc.  Manual handling courses are an essential part of health and safety training which involve learning the correct procedures for lifting and carrying objects.

The Regulations require employers to:

  • avoid the need for hazardous manual handling, so far as is reasonably practicable
  • assess the risk of injury from any hazardous manual handling that can’t be avoided
  • reduce the risk of injury from hazardous manual handling, so far as is reasonably practicable

Training courses include good handling techniques for lifting, pushing and pulling, general risk assessment and practical participation. Courses are aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake manual handling operations.  On successful completion of the course you will be provided with a certificate to provide evidence for compliance and audit.
